FEBRUARY 2011 FINAL

Played March 12 2011 at St. James Hotel, Cheltenham

There was another good turnout for this month’s Final of 41 players from the 50 qualifiers at St. James. The pre-match presentations were made for winning the league to Sunny Kalcutt (who was unable to attend as he was celebrating his 21st ) and to Allen Tatton (‘Tats’) for highest average.

The £50 bounty was on Jean Hancock who was eventually taken out by Paresh Patel who also got to the final table to add to his winnings. The first player out was Eddy (Go Home) and after several hours’ play Brian Burleigh went out in the Bubble leaving the following players to contest the FINAL TABLE:-

Final Positions

8th (£30) Paresh Patel – whose pr. 5s was no match for Andy’s Queen flush

7th (£40) Chris Weaver – had only AQ against Bob’s pr. Queens

6th (£50) Ben Mallett – pr. Jacks beaten by Bob’s 2prs. Jacks & 5s (hitting his 5 on the river).

5th (£70) Simon Inglis – whose pr. Aces was beaten by Andy’s set of Aces

4th (£80) Martin Carroll – pr. 5s well beaten by Bob’s set of 7s

3rd (£110) Andrew Derham – whose 2 prs. Jacks & 6s was edged out by Bob’s Jacks & 10s.

The final heads-up was between Bob Nutman (300,000 chips) and Andy Jones (130,000 chips).They agreed to split the prize with £360 each, but it lasted only 1 hand! 2nd place went to Andy Jones whose pair of 7s was beaten by the pair of Jacks of the WINNER – BOB NUTMAN. Congratulations to Bob!
