APRIL 2011 FINAL

Played May 7th at Kingshill, Dursley

There was a lower than usual turnout of only 32 players on 4 tables from the 50 qualifiers for this month’s Final at the Kingshill. The pre-match presentations were made to the league winner, Tina Powell (5050 pts.) and to Colin Ward for the highest average (514 pts from 7 games).

Andy Keen was the ‘Bounty’ and almost survived to the final table before being taken out by Ashley Philp who claimed the £50.

The first player out was Rob Poole and after several hours Dave Rogers went out in the ‘Bubble’ leaving the following players to contest the FINAL TABLE;

Final Positions

8th (£30) Andy Jones – whose AK high lost to Daryl’s pr. Queens.

7th (£40) Andrew Derham – AQ beaten by Ashley’s pr. 7s ….

6th (£50) Ashley Philp …… then lost with KJ high to Daryl’s pr. Aces.

5th (£70) Brian Burleigh – whose pr. 9s were beaten again by Daryl’s pr.Aces

4th (£80) Clive Smith – QJ high just lost out to Daryl’s KQ high.

3rd (£110) Dom Frasca – whose pr.7s was no match for Daryl’s 2 prs. of Queens & 7s.

The final heads-up was between Daryl Hill (187,000 chips), who had demolished the opposition on the final table taking out 5 of the other 6 players, and Colin Warrington who had quietly made his way to this point. They agreed to split the winnings (£360 each) and after a hard-fought battle 2nd place went to Colin Warrington whose 2 prs of 9s & 2s were narrowly beaten by Daryl’s 10s & 2s.
