PPL NOV. /DEC. ROLLOVER FINAL

Played Sat. January 15th 2011 at Kingshill, Dursley

An excellent, record turnout of 47 of the 50 qualifiers contested the Rollover Final at the Kingshill. The November pre-match presentations were made to the League winner Ryan Poolton (5111 points) and the highest average, Simon Inglis (406 points over 7 games).

The £50 bounty was on Andrew Keen who not only survived to the Final Table but was the ultimate Winner! The first player to be eliminated was the November League winner Ryan Poolton (within minutes of the start). After several hours’ play, Brian Burleigh went out in the Bubble leaving the following players to contest the FINAL TABLE:-

8th (£60) Colin Ward – whose Ace high was no match for Steve’s set of 2s.

7th (£80) Martin Taylor – lost to Martin Carroll’s Ace flush.

6th (£100) San Kanabar – his pr.8s beaten by Joe’s 2 prs As & 8s

5th (£140) Tina Powell – K high lost to Martin Carroll’s pr. of 10s.

4th (£160) Steve Hancock – AJ high beaten by Joe’s pr of 8s

3rd (£220) Joe Dooner – his 2 prs Qs & 9s lost out to Andrew’s K high straight

The final heads-up was between the ‘Bounty head’ Andrew Keen (255,000 chips) and Martin Carroll (235,000 chips) who agreed to split not only the 1st and 2nd prizes but the £50 bounty also giving them £745 each. After a lengthy and closely fought battle with the lead continually changing 2nd place eventually went to Martin Carroll with the WINNER, ANDREW KEEN. Even the final hand was very close with Martin’s King high straight narrowly beaten by Andrew’s Ace high straight. Congratulations to both for the best Final for months and thanks also to Steve and Jean for running the event and to the Landlord Adam for his excellent facilities.
